Spark Firewall 2500 Appliances

The Spark Firewall 2500 appliance series includes the 2530 / 2550, 2560 / 2570, and 2580, and 2590 models and runs R82 code. These appliances support the Check Point Software Blade architecture and provide independent modular and Centrally Managed security building blocks. You can quickly enable and configure the Software Blades to meet your specific security needs. With the exception of the 2580 and 2590 models, they support 5G and WiFi7.

Spark Firewall Pro 1500 Appliances

Firmware version R82.00.10 and higher is supported on Spark Firewall Pro 1500 appliances (15x5, 1600, 1800, 1900, and 2000), in addition to R81.10.X.

There are two upgrade scenarios:

• When managing the gateway firmware via Spark Management (see Spark Management Administration Guide > Configuring Services > Firmware).

You can do the configuration in either the Plan object or the Gateway object.

• When upgrading directly from the Security Gateway (see Backup, Restore, Upgrade, and Other System Operations > Firmware Management > Manual Upgrade).

If the gateway firmware is R81.10.15 or higher, a direct upgrade to R82.00 is supported.

If the gateway is running R81.10.10 or lower versions:

• If managed directly, you will get a recommendation to upgrade the gateway to version R81.10.17. After you perform that upgrade, you get a new recommendation to upgrade to R82.00.10 and higher.

• If managed by Spark Management, the gateway will first automatically upgrade to R81.10.17 and then to R82.00.10 and higher.

Note - Upgrading a cluster of these gateways causes the default number of CPU cores assigned to CoreXL to change: 1555, 1575R, 1595, 1595R, 1600, and 1800. As a result, until both members complete the upgrade, the cluster may experience Active/Down state and spontaneous failover.

Spark Firewall 1500 appliances deliver integrated unified threat management to protect your organization from today's emerging threats. Based on proven Check Point security technologies such as Stateful Inspection, Application Intelligence, and Security Management Architecture, the appliances provide simplified deployment while delivering uncompromising levels of security.

These appliances run an embedded version of the Gaia operating system. The appliances include core configuration elements such as Gaia Clish interface, SNMPv2/v3 and routing stack implementations. In addition to the Gaia features, Gaia Embedded operating system contains support for built-in network switches, wireless networks, 3G/4G/5G Internet connectivity, multiple Internet connections (more than 2) in High Availability or Load Sharing mode, Policy Based Routing, and DDNS support. Quick deployment with USB is supported for all appliances, and with SD card and Dual SIM card for the 1575 / 1595 and 1595R appliances.

1600 and 1800 Appliances

The Spark Firewall 1600 / 1800 Security Appliances, part of the 1600 / 1800 Appliance family, deliver enterprise-grade security, run both the R81.10 and R82 code base in an all-in-one security solution to protect Medium Business employees, network and data from cyber-theft.

The 1600 / 1800 Security Gateways offer integrated, multi-layered security in a 1U form factor, a high performance platform which is easy and simple to configure and manage. The Security Gateway offers firewall, VPN, Anti-Virus, Application Visibility and Control, URL Filtering, Email Security, and SandBlast Zero-Day Protection.

Spark Firewall 1600 / 1800 Security Appliances can be managed either locally in a Web interface, or centrally by means of a cloud-based Spark Firewall Security Management Portal).

1900 and 2000 Appliances

The Spark Firewall 1900 and 2000 Security Appliances deliver enterprise-grade security in simple, affordable, all-in-one security solutions in a 1U Rack Unit (RU) form factor to protect mid-size business employees. They run both R81.10 and R82 code base.

The two appliances offer the same amount of network ports (the difference is only in their Threat Prevention performance throughput). The appliances feature four 10GbE fiber ports as well as 18 x 1GbE and 2 x 2.5GbE copper ports.
