**VMware ESXi deployments**

- Using the VMware GUI Wizard requires deployment from vCenter.
- Deploying from a standalone ESXi is not supported by VMware.
- When deploying from a standalone ESXi server, all inputs will be ignored.
- Images without a default admin password can only be deployed from vCenter.

**Admin password**  
- Use an image without a default admin password if you can do one of the following:
  - Set your admin password during first boot via console
  - Apply your admin password, use cloud-init
- Otherwise, use an image with a default admin password, and the system will force you to change the password on first login.

The default password is **"admin"**
