SmartConsole crashes after upgrade during policy installation
Product: SmartConsole
Version: R80.40 (EOS), R81 (EOS), R81.10 (EOS), R81.20
OS: Windows
Last Modified: 2023-08-23
Symptoms
After upgrade, SmartConsole may unexpectedly close while installing the policy with error " The connection with the server was lost. Any unsaved changes will be preserved" and policy installation will be performed in the background.
SmartConsole debug shows an error similar to:
"(ERROR) CP.Infrastructure.DLE.MgmtServerExceptionsHandler - Management server error ModelIS.Serialization.DynamicSerializationException:
Failure while deserializing object of type 'CP.Management.Objects.Schema.DleWebService.QueryResponseRemote'. --->
System.InvalidOperationException: There is an error in XML document (1, 14904). --->
System.InvalidOperationException: Instance validation error: 'ANTIMALWARE_HARRY' is not a valid value for CmpPackages."
Cause
Upgrade preserves too many install status objects, causing the failure.
