Symptoms

• The command 'service cme test' fails on CME with the error:

API call failed with command: show-simple-gateway Payload: {'name': 'GW-NAME'} Error details: {'code': 'generic_error', 'message': 'Null Pointer exception: null'}

• Running the same API call, 'mgmt_cli -r true show simple-gateway GW_NAME' to see if the CME is running fails with the same error:

[Expert@hostname:0]# mgmt_cli -r true show simple-gateway name GW_NAME code: "generic_error" message: "Null Pointer exception: null"

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 8

Check Point recommends to always upgrade to the Recommended version ( Security Management Server / Multi-Domain Security Management Server).

If you choose not to upgrade, contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for your version.

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.

For faster resolution and verification, collect CPinfo files from the Management Server and Security Gateways / Cluster Members involved in the case.
