# "g_tcpdump -mcap" command does not merge traffic capture outputs

**Product**: Maestro HyperScale Firewall
**Version**: R81.10 (EOS)
**Last Modified**: 2023-11-23

## Symptoms

- The errors below appear when you save global tcpdump with Multi-Blade Traffic Capture (`g_tcpdump -mcap`):

`Copying captured packets from remote SGMs to local SGM
  Merging capture files into [Filename]
error executing mcap: capture file [Filename] has bad file name format. expecting [base file name]_X_YY, where X is the chassis ID and YY is the blade ID`

- The outputs of the traffic capture are not merged:

`[filename]_1_1
  [filename]_1_2
  [filename]_1_3
  [filename]_1_4
  [filename]_2_1
  [filename]_2_2
  [filename]_2_3`

## Cause

The filename specified with the "-w" parameter contains a dot (.) or dots.
