IOC Feeds do not work for specific longer URLs or HTTPS URLs

Symptoms

• Long URLs are not blocked
• URLs with special characters like "?" "#" "%" are not blocked

Cause

The root cause of the issue is the removal of special characters ("?", "#", "%") from the URL, so the URLs are not blocked. The ioc_feeder does not push the long URLs and causes inconsistencies in the blocking mechanism.

The issue affects URLs in the IOC feeds, specifically those with extended length and special characters.

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 43

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
