Symptoms
SmartConsole may freeze for several minutes in this scenario:
- Open a Security Gateway with the Identity Awareness Software Blade enabled
- In the left panel, click the " Identity Awareness" page
- Select " RADIUS Accounting" and click " Settings"
- In the section " Authorized RADIUS Clients", click the green [+]
Solution
This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
- Check Point Quantum R82
- Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 79
- Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.10 starting from Take 158
- Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81 starting from Take 106
If you choose not to upgrade, Check Point can supply a Hotfix. Contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for this issue.
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
For faster resolution and verification, please collect CPinfo files from the Security Management Server and Security Gateways involved in the case.

Important Notes:
- There are two packages:
A hotfix for the Management Server.
The improved SmartConsole.
Required to load the "RADIUS Accounting Settings" window faster.
- After you install the hotfix packages, you must configure an environment variable on a SmartConsole client computer.
Procedure:
On the Management Server:
Install the hotfix as described in sk168597 - How to install a Hotfix.
On the SmartConsole client computer:
- Install the improved SmartConsole:
- Uninstall the current SmartConsole.
- Install the improved SmartConsole.
- Configure the required environment variable:
- Click the Start menu > Settings.
- In the top Search field, enter: Edit the system
- Click: Edit the system environment variables
- The System Properties window opens on the tab Advanced.
- At the bottom, click: Environment Variables
- In one of the sections - User variables or System variables, click New.
- Configure the required variable:
- In the Variable name field, paste: FETCH_PAGED_NETWORK_OBJECTS
- In the Variable value field, enter the digit one: 1
- Click OK to close the New Variable window.
- Click OK to close the Environment Variables window.
- Click OK to close the System Properties window.
- Install the improved SmartConsole:
Connect with SmartConsole to the Management Server.
