# "RADIUS Accounting Settings" window takes a long time to load

## Symptoms

- SmartConsole may freeze for several minutes in this scenario:
  
  1. Open a Security Gateway with the Identity Awareness Software Blade enabled  
  2. In the left panel, click the " **Identity Awareness**" page  
  3. Select " **RADIUS Accounting**" and click " **Settings**"  
  4. In the section " **Authorized RADIUS Clients**", click the green **[+]**

**Important Notes:**

- There are two packages:
  1. A hotfix for the Management Server.
  2. The improved SmartConsole.
     
     Required to load the "RADIUS Accounting Settings" window faster.
- After you install the hotfix packages, you must configure an environment variable on a SmartConsole client computer.

**Procedure:**

1. On the Management Server:
   
   Install the hotfix as described in [sk168597 - How to install a Hotfix](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk168597).

2. On the SmartConsole client computer:
   1. Install the improved SmartConsole:
        1. Uninstall the current SmartConsole.
        2. Install the improved SmartConsole.
   2. Configure the required environment variable:
        1. Click the **Start** menu > **Settings**.
        2. In the top **Search** field, enter:
           **Edit the system**
        3. Click:
           **Edit the system environment variables**
        4. The **System Properties** window opens on the tab **Advanced**.
        5. At the bottom, click:
           **Environment Variables**
        6. In one of the sections - **User variables** or **System variables**, click **New**.
        7. Configure the required variable:
           1. In the **Variable name** field, paste:
              **FETCH\_PAGED\_NETWORK\_OBJECTS**
           2. In the **Variable value** field, enter the digit one:
              **1**
           3. Click **OK** to close the **New Variable** window.
        8. Click **OK** to close the **Environment Variables** window.
        9. Click **OK** to close the **System Properties** window.

3. Connect with SmartConsole to the Management Server.
