Two or more Endpoint Security VPN (Remote Access VPN) users get the same Office Mode IP address

Symptoms

• Two or more Endpoint Security VPN (Remote Access VPN) users get the same Office Mode IP address at the same time.
• The two remote users with the same Office Mode IP address can both access internal resources.
• In Smart Log, Identity Awareness logs show that one of the users logged out during the time that both users accessed internal resources.

Cause

In R81.20 multi-core support for IKED was added, a code limitation resulted in each IKED providing by chance the same office mode IP address to multiple users.

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 starting from Take 14
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 99

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.

For faster resolution and verification, please collect CPinfo files from the Security Management Server and Security Gateways involved in the case.

The fix changes the behavior so the IKED instances will be synced in terms of which IPs from the pool were given in order and avoid providing a used IP to another user.
