Introduction

An advanced deployment strategy for Log Exporter integrates using the AutoUpdatable package, replacing the traditional maintrain delivery system. This approach shifts from version-based to component-level updates, enabling more granular and agile update mechanisms.

AutoUpdater continuously monitors the Download Center for available updates and upon detecting a new package, automated download process is initiated.

This package does not change Log Exporter configuration in SmartConsole. More information you can find in the Log Exporter Administration Guide.

The Log Exporter package is installed automatically on all relevant Check Point devices when Automatic Update downloads are enabled (see sk175504, section 2-B).

If Automatic Updates are disabled, you must first manually install the latest AutoUpdater and then install the Log Exporter package manually using the steps below.

Manual Installation (Offline)

Instructions:

1. Download the offline package to your computer. See the "Availability" section.

2. Copy the offline package from your computer to your Management Server / Log Server to some directory (for example, /var/log/).

3. Connect to the command line on your Management Server / Log Server.

4. Log in to the Expert mode.

5. Go to the directory with the offline package.

   For example: cd /var/log/

6. Install the offline package:

   autoupdatercli install Check_Point_LOGEXPORTER_AUTOUPDATE_Bundle_T<Number>_AutoUpdate.tar

Note - The installation does not require "cpstop ; cpstart" or a reboot. After it is installed, no further action is required - the update will be applied immediately.
