• Maestro Security Group Member enters a boot loop after you install one of these Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Takes and reboot:
  • R82 Jumbo Hotfix Take 12
  • R82 Jumbo Hotfix Take 10
  • R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Take 98
  • R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Take 96
  • R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Take 92
  • R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Take 90
  • R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Take 89
  • R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Take 172
  • R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Take 171

• Maestro Security Group Member enters a boot loop after you upgrade to the R82 version and reboot.

Cause

The Maestro Security Group Member crashes and reboots when the Gaia gClish command "show smo security-group site-amount" returns the value "1".

Note: Most Maestro setups have this value set to "2", even in Single-Site setups. In these cases, the upgrade is safe.

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included starting from:

• Check Point R82.10
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 - from Take 14
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 - from Take 99
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.10 - from Take 173

Immediate Workaround:
Apply this solution only if the Gaia gClish command "show smo security-group site-amount" returns the value "1". Using this workaround when the returned value is not "1" may cause system instability.

1. Connect to the command line on the Maestro Security Group.
2. Configure the value "1" for the kernel parameter "fwha_maestro_single_site" on all Security Group Members:
   • If your shell is Gaia gClish, run:
     1. update_conf_file fwkern.conf fwha_maestro_single_site=1
     2. cat /var/opt/fw.boot/modules/fwkern.conf
   • If your shell is the Expert mode, run:
     1. g_update_conf_file fwkern.conf fwha_maestro_single_site=1
     2. g_cat /var/opt/fw.boot/modules/fwkern.conf
3. Start the installation of the Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator / the upgrade to the R82 version again.

NOTE

This solution has been verified for the specific scenario, described by the combination of Product, Version and Symptoms. It may not work in other scenarios.
