Symptoms

• Android devices generate HTTP HEAD requests to Google services through the Security Gateway proxy. The proxy blocks these requests, creating a high volume of logs (more than 37,000 in 24 hours). This excessive logging causes increased CPU usage and impacts Security Gateway performance, though Android device functionality remains unaffected.

Cause

Android devices sending HTTP/1.1 requests without required Host header violates RFC 7230. Security Gateway proxy blocks these non-compliant requests per protocol standards and security requirements as malformed.

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 starting from Take 14
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 99
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.10 starting from Take 177
