"Error in packet" error on SNMP query to the DPLANE after an upgrade

Symptoms

After an upgrade, an SNMP query to the DPLANE fails, for example:

[Expert@Lab1:mplane]# snmpwalk  -v 3 -l authPriv -u snmptest -a SHA512 -A vpn12345 -x AES256 -X
vpn12345 -n dplane localhost 1.3.6.1.2.1 | head -n 15

Error in packet.

Reason: authorizationError (access denied to that object)

Cause

Missing configuration in the /etc/snmpd/snmpd.conf file.

In a rare scenario, when the MDPS toggles during the upgrade, the MDPS is not updated in the file.

Example with missing configuration:

group    snmptest_group    usm    snmptest
access   snmptest_group    ""    usm    priv    exact    systemview    none    none
access   snmptest_group    ctxname_vsid1    usm    priv    exact    systemview    none    none
access    snmptest_group    vsid1    usm    priv    exact    systemview    none    none

Example of a good configuration:
