Symptoms
The Security Gateway may crash or freeze without generating a core dump file because of high CPU.
The
$FWDIR/log/fwk.elgfile contains these messages before the crash / freeze:
kiss_ghtab_bl_nents_impl: Global htab id 100020 out of range!
Assertion 0 failed in kiss_ghtab_LPB.c:<N>
- The
$FWDIR/log/fwk.elgfile also contains these messages:
[dev_thread_0];[<N>];fwk_dmd_connect_socket: failed to connect to socket: /dev/dmd_vs_socket, vs:0, fwk_dmd_vs_socket_fd:-1, attempt: 10
[dev_thread_0];[<N>];fwk_dmd_crash_recovery: connect to socket failed for vs 0, resched to the next second
Solution
This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
- Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 starting from Take 73
If you choose not to upgrade, Contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for this issue.
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.
For faster resolution and verification, collect these files:
- CPinfo file from the Management Server involved in the case.
- CPinfo file from the Security Gateway / each Cluster Member / Security Group involved in the case.
