Security Gateway blocks the download of files larger than 4 GB with the log "Application Control - HTTP parsing error occurred (2)"

Symptoms

• Security Gateway blocks the download of files larger than 4 GB (for example, Windows OS Updates) with this log in SmartConsole:

Action Reason: Blocking request as configured in engine settings of Application Control

Reason: Application Control - HTTP parsing error occurred (2)

Precise Error: body filter failed in response

• Kernel debug on the Security Gateway ("fw ctl debug -m WS + error") shows:

ws_common_parse_content_range_header_val: [ERROR]: field 2 is overflow : 2147483647;

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 starting from Take 41
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 115
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.10 starting from Take 183
