# Remote and local backup operations fail after installation of Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator

## Symptoms

- Remote and local backup operations fail after installing:

> R82 Jumbo Hotfix Take 36
  > R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Take 111
  > R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Take 177

- The backup process fails and displays the this error message:

`Cannot complete the backup process: not enough space in /var/log/CPbackup/backups. Cause`

## Cause

A change introduced in Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator with the fix ID PRHF-37416 that modified the Firewall backup scheme to include all .log in the $FWDIR/log directory, in certain cases, these log files are significantly larger than the available space on the lv_log volume. As a result, the backup process fails when the volume cannot accommodate the additional data.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

- [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82.10](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Jumbo_HFA/R82.10/Default.htm) starting from Take 36
- [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Jumbo_HFA/R82/Default.htm) starting from Take 118
- [Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/Jumbo_HFA/R81.20/Default.htm) starting from Take 158

**Hotfix installation instructions:**

Refer to [sk168597 - How to install a Hotfix](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk168597).

**Workaround:**

1. Open the FW1logs scheme configuration file using vi:
   - vi /var/CPbackup/schemes/fw1logs.cpbak
2. Locate the section between <INCLUDE_FILES> and </INCLUDE_FILES>.
   - Remove the following lines:
     - ^FWDIR/log/*.elg*
     - ^FWDIR/log/*.log*
3. Save and exit the file:
   - Press Esc to return to command mode.
   - Type :wq and press Enter.

This change excludes log files under $FWDIR/log from the backup process, delivering the same result as the hotfix.
