The "vsec_lic_cli" utility cannot distribute a license when there are duplicate entries of the license on the Security Management Server

Symptoms

• The "vsec_lic_cli" (CloudGuard Network Central License) utility on the Management Server cannot distribute a license to the Security Gateway when there are duplicate entries of the license on the Management Server.

Cause

Duplicate licenses that already exist in the Management Server's database cannot be attached to a Security Gateway because of the validation that enforces licenses' uniqueness.

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 starting from Take 39
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 113

If you choose not to upgrade, Check Point can supply a Hotfix. Contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for this issue.

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.

For faster resolution and verification, please collect CPinfo files from the Security Management Server and Security Gateways involved in the case.
