# The SSHD daemon unexpectedly exits on Multi-Domain Log Server (MLM) after SSH session ends

**Product** Multi-Domain Security Management
**Version** R81.10 (EOS), R81.20, R82
**OS** Gaia
**Platform** Smart-1
**Last Modified** 2026-05-26

## Symptoms

- The process unexpectedly exits when Secure Shell (SSH) connections end; it could be user logout, automated tool disconnection, or network issues.
- A core dump file is generated for the Secure Shell Daemon (sshd) process on the Multi-Domain Log Server.

## Cause

The Secure Shell Daemon (SSHD) unexpectedly exits during memory cleanup when SSH connections end. The cleanup function attempts to access empty or invalid memory areas without proper validation, resulting in a segmentation fault and core dump.
