After Jumbo Hotfix upgrade, certain User Space processes become unresponsive when working in Firewall Kernel Space Mode
Product: Security Gateways
Version: R81.20, R82
Last Modified: 2025-10-19
Symptoms
- After Jumbo Hotfix upgrade, certain User Space processes (for example, PDPD) become unresponsive when working in Firewall Kernel Space Mode (KSFW).
The affected versions are:
R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Takes 111, 113, and 115
- R82 Jumbo Hotfix Takes 36, 39, and 41
The pdpd.elg file may contain:
'T_get_event: CP_FD_SETSIZE limit (32768) reached for socket/type: 36060/1'HCP shows:
The process 'pdpd' (PID 'pid of pdp') has 'high number' file descriptors.
Cause
Jumbo Hotfix introduces changes that can impact the behavior of the User Space processes. These changes may lead to excessive file descriptor usage and a memory leak, causing the User Space processes to stop responding.
Solution
This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
- Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 starting from Take 43
- Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 118
