sk184196 - Memory leak on Security Gateway cluster members
Memory leak on Security Gateway cluster members
Product: Security Gateways
Version: R81.10 (EOS), R81.20, R82
OS: Gaia
Last Modified: 2026-01-29
Symptoms
- Continuous increase in memory usage on Security Gateway cluster members.
- Memory usage does not correlate with the number of connections.
- Long-lived connections are observed in the connections table.
- Cluster instability, including issues with ClusterXL Fullsync and Critical Devices (pnotes), requiring failover and reboots to restore service.
Cause
In the Application Control Rule Base when an "any-any" rule is configured with long-lived connections, each packet match appends the application signature to the connection without verifying if the signature already exists, causing an ever-growing list of duplicate signatures.
