# ClusterXL Active Member Unexpectedly Exits Due to CIFS Hash Table Defect

**Product**: ClusterXL
**Version**: R82
**OS**: Gaia
**Platform**: 9000
**Last Modified**: 2026-07-23

## Symptoms

- The active member of a ClusterXL unexpectedly exited
- `fwk` and `dmd_run` repeatedly exited and generated core dumps.
- Log files (`fwk.elg`) contained numerous errors related to Common Internet File System (CIFS) operations, such as failed tree deletions and hash table update failures.
- The cluster operated normally between these unexpected exits.

## Cause

The issue occurs during CIFS parsing; concurrent access to common resources by both `fwk` and `dmd_run` processes, resulting in a crash.
