# Spark Firewall R82.00.10

## Solution

**Check Point's latest version for all Spark Firewall deployments is R82.00.10.**
**For more info about all Spark Firewall R82.00.x releases, refer to the [Release map](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk183406) article.**

## Introduction
We are excited to announce the availability of the new Spark Firewall 2500 series! These appliances (2530 / 2550 / 2560 / 2570 / 2580 / 2590) represent a significant upgrade over the 1500 PRO series (15x5), featuring advanced capabilities such as WiFi 7, 5G cellular on entry model (roadmap), 10GbE ports, dual power supply, and greatly improved performance.
**R82 alignment - Now includes full support for all Pro appliance 15x5 models, in addition to 1600, 1800, 1900, and 2000.**
- **Upgrade restrictions**: Only Pro models (1535 / 1555 / 1555 / 1575 / 1575R / 1595R / 1600 / 1800 / 1900 / 2000) can upgrade to R82.00. Other models (for example, 1530 / 1550 / 1570 / 1590) are blocked from this upgrade by default. For more information, see [sk184492](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk184492).
- **Upgrading Pro device clusters** **to R82** requires a maintenance window to reconfigure the cluster as core affinity change will cause downtime and loss of High Availability (cluster failover). For more information, see [sk184478](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk184478).
- **Backup and restore restrictions** for models running R82.00 - See [sk184499](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk184499).

**Note -** The latest GA Replacement Build 998002242 also includes code fixes for VPN CVEs: [CVE-2026-50751](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk185033) and [CVE-2026-50752](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk185035) found in earlier Build 998002216.

## What's New in R82.00.10
Security
- **New R82 Features**
  - **QUIC inspection** - Deep packet inspection of QUIC traffic (UDP/443) to maintain visibility even when apps shift away from TLS over TCP.
  - **DNS security** - Block malicious domains and prevents data exfiltration via DNS tunneling and other abuses.
  - **HTTPS inspection enhancements / bypass under load** - Smarter SSL inspection with adaptive bypass to protect critical flows when appliances hit resource thresholds.
  - [Zero Phishing](https://youtu.be/PThNhADsKoY) - Real-time page scoring to stop credential harvesting and spoofed login pages before users submit data.
  - **IoC feeds** - Allow you to configure a stream of malicious indicators (IPs, domain, file hashes) used to detect and block threats.
  - **Network feeds** - Real-time integration of external threat intelligence (IPs, domains, file hashes) for automatic detection and blocking. (EA)
  - **Quantum encryption** - Quantum-safe cryptography using PQC algorithms (e.g. Kyber, Dilithium) to resist future quantum attacks.
