# Legitimate Files Incorrectly Flagged as Malicious When Scanned with ICAP

**Product**: Anti-Virus
**Version**: R81.20, R82, R82.10
**Last Modified**: 2026-07-23

## Symptoms

- When using Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) to scan files, the Anti‑Virus Blade flags multiple legitimate vendor files as malicious with the message `VIRUS FOUND`.
- Large files may cause ICAP to fail open or closed.
- Scans of password‑protected or encrypted ZIP files behave inconsistently.

## Cause

A change introduced in R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 113 modified ICAP error‑handling logic.

In specific scan‑error conditions, ICAP incorrectly classified the file as malicious instead of reporting a scan error, resulting in false detections.
