Packet mode search does not return results for Inline Layer rules in SmartConsole and Management API

Symptoms

• Packet mode search does not return results for inline layer rules.

• Packet mode search with the following API command does not return results:

  [Expert@mds_host]# mgmt_cli -r true -d <CMA_IP> show access-rulebase uid "UID of Inline layer" filter "src:x.x.x.x AND dst:y.y.y.y AND svc:z" --format json filter-settings.search-mode packet
  

  It shows the output with no results.

• Similar search without packet mode search filter works. Example below shows the results:

  [Expert@mds_host]# mgmt_cli -r true -d  show access-rulebase uid "UID of Inline layer" filter "src:x.x.x.x AND dst:y.y.y.y AND svc:z" --format json
  

• In the SmartConsole, in editing Inline layer policy, the packet mode search does not work. It shows "No items found".

Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82.10 starting from Take 36
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R82 starting from Take 118
• Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R81.20 starting from Take 158

If you choose not to upgrade, Check Point can supply a Hotfix. Contact Check Point Support to get a Hotfix for this issue.

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.

For faster resolution and verification, please collect CPinfo files from the Security Management Server and Security Gateways involved in the case.
