# Packet mode search does not return results for Inline Layer rules in SmartConsole and Management API

## Symptoms

- Packet mode search does not return results for inline layer rules.
- Packet mode search with the following API command does not return results:

  ```
  [Expert@mds_host]# mgmt_cli -r true -d <CMA_IP> show access-rulebase uid "UID of Inline layer" filter "src:x.x.x.x AND dst:y.y.y.y AND svc:z" --format json filter-settings.search-mode packet
  ```

  It shows the output with no results.
- Similar search without packet mode search filter works. Example below shows the results:

  ```
  [Expert@mds_host]# mgmt_cli -r true -d  show access-rulebase uid "UID of Inline layer" filter "src:x.x.x.x AND dst:y.y.y.y AND svc:z" --format json
  ```
- In the SmartConsole, in editing Inline layer policy, the packet mode search does not work. It shows "No items found".
