Routed Crash on Security Group Members After Orchestrator Daemon (orchd) Stop
Product: Maestro HyperScale Firewall
Version: R81.10 (EOS), R81.20, R82, R82.10
OS: Gaia
Last Modified: 2026-07-23
Symptoms
- Running the following command on the Maestro Orchestrator causes several Security Group Members (SGMs) to transition to DOWN:
orchd stop
- Cluster / firewall logs show the state change caused by:
ROUTED PNOTE
- The routing process (routed) exits unexpectedly due to an assertion related to Open Shortest Path First (OSPF): This can be seen in the routing log at:
$FWDIR/log/routed.log
Example:
Assertion failed ... ospf/ospf_flood.c:3738
Cause
A software condition in the OSPF Link‑State Advertisement (LSA) retransmission handling triggers an internal assertion in ospf_flood.c. This leads to an unexpected termination of the routed process.
After the process exits, the platform reports a ROUTED PNOTE, and affected SGMs transition to DOWN.
