# Routed Crash on Security Group Members After Orchestrator Daemon (orchd) Stop

Product: Maestro HyperScale Firewall
Version: R81.10 (EOS), R81.20, R82, R82.10
OS: Gaia
Last Modified: 2026-07-23

## Symptoms

- Running the following command on the Maestro Orchestrator causes several Security Group Members (SGMs) to transition to DOWN:

`orchd stop`
- Cluster / firewall logs show the state change caused by:

`ROUTED PNOTE`
- The routing process (routed) exits unexpectedly due to an assertion related to Open Shortest Path First (OSPF): This can be seen in the routing log at: `$FWDIR/log/routed.log`

Example:

`Assertion failed ... ospf/ospf_flood.c:3738`

## Cause

A software condition in the OSPF Link‑State Advertisement (LSA) retransmission handling triggers an internal assertion in `ospf_flood.c`. This leads to an unexpected termination of the routed process.

After the process exits, the platform reports a `ROUTED PNOTE`, and affected SGMs transition to DOWN.
